Offered on behalf of its owner and currently still residing with him in Bridgend S.Wales for viewing by interested parties, this lovely coloured 1996 BMW 850ci has been pampered throughout its life and well loved by its owners, borne out by its service history and records.
Described by its owner as “As completely stock, a beauty to drive. A car that receives nice comments and respectful head-nods wherever it goes. A proper GT cruiser in the true sense of the word, the legendary V8 under the bonnet has power to overtake without hesitation, while the 5 speed automatic gearbox ensures smooth progress whether powering down an autobahn or coping with the worse that our roads can throw at it. All the while in absolute comfort with surprisingly modern features like memory seats and a multi CD changer – everything feels nicely buttoned down and solid to touch. German engineering at its best.
Condition is given as excellent inside and out, with only some signs minor of usage in the interior. Seat bolsters are still firm, leather still soft and intact, all in all very impressive. Outside the rare “Oxford Green” coachwork appears almost black at nightime but with its deep metallic finish it sparkles when light hits it, very nice indeed. Tyres are brand new. It’s had a few thousand spent recently on a mini-restoration covering new batteries, tyres and paint rectification where required.
While being in this superb condition the owner would like to point out a couple of minor faults that he is aware of, none that bothered him but he feels only fare to mention. The top dashboard screen is missing pixels (all models suffered from this), the stereo is missing the cap of its on/off button, plus it will occasionally throw up an erroneous error about a brake light being out.
Priced middle of the market for a car of this quality and with an MOT until April 2019, the choice is keep it in a collection and watch its value grow or drive it every day with a smile on your face?
