Kawasaki H1B 500 Triple 1972 UK bike just “revived” in lovely condition £8,495
This now lovely and very sought after UK spec 1972 Kawasaki 500 H1b was found after it had become an abandoned restoration, covered in a mix of grease and duck oil and left since the mid 80s in a garage when its owner emigrated to Spain. Now, after a lot of time, money and effort, especially by Jason and his dad at Bikewise Workshop in Leigh on Sea Essex, its finished!
What i wanted was a sympathetically “revived” bike, one that retained some if its age and didnt look like a new bike, more a really nice, nearly 50 year old, Japanese classic and personally i think thats what has been achieved. There seems to be no ceiling in prices of Jap classic bikes with the early two strokes becoming so sort after they are closing in value with the market favourites Z900s, CBX thou’s etc. I have priced our H1 at £8500 so leaving enough room for the next owner if he/she wants to make it a £10k plus show bike ( having said that, leave it as is and in a year or so it will be worth that or more anyway). Bare in mind that although no receipts to prove it from its last owner, he had no reason to lie when he told us that it has a rebuilt engine so will need to be run in gently. The carbs have been fully rebuilt and are still on standard jets so a trip to the dyno would be highly recomended prior to using in anger especially with the expansion pipes and foam filters that are currently fitted. The pipes were brand new in 85 and had never been run as were two out of three of the down pipes, mad eh! I cant sit here and list all the new parts with my one finger typing skills, so if you are genuinely interested then talk to me. Thanks. G
