While running and driving, this 1979 Mercedes 450SLC does require a level of recommissioning and restoration. The body work has a number of dents in places and the paint work is faded by the sun. There are the usual areas on the front wings etc that have corrosion but to last this long without the more customary large holes is in itself un-usual. Underneath appears to be very solid.
Interior needs retiming to the bolsters of the front seats, being a high spec car they are leather so it has dried and split. Dash does have some cracks but repairable and there are a couple of switches missing (note this is an Air con equipped car, untested).
These hard top cars were known to be almost bio-degradable, that plus low market values meant many have ended up as scrap. Now with prices recovering quickly it is getting hard to find examples like this one, in this price range, that are ripe for restoration but still in one bit.
Located in Spain, price is pounds in Spain(@ 1.12 ex rate), this nice old V8 coupe comes with American papers, where it was imported from and assistance arranging shipping world-wide is freely given.
