Purchased from an elderly gent that had taken over ownership from his sister in 2017 when she was deemed too old to drive any more, this very nice and unusual spec C180 has survived miraculously well and has a very low recorded mileage.
Purchased by his sister in 2010 with only 77K on the clock, seven years later she had only covered a further 10K miles, since then only another 240 have been added leading us to believe the low recorded miles of only 86843 are likely to be correct. Unfortunately, although the gent has searched for it, he cannot find the owners wallet with the history in it, just the owner’s hand book that was in the car. The online MOT history register does show that in 2005 in had only 52733 at time of test and mileage moves appropriately each year from there. Point of interest in all that time it has only failed an MOT 3 times, each for very minor items. 2005 headlight, 2006 wiper blade and 2011 two front tyres, this also points to it being maintained properly. Current MOT is through to January 2019
Body work is very good, yes there are a couple of minor marks most of which we are fairly sure will be removed or reduced once we have had a valet done. But no rust. The interior is excellent and in the rare colours you can see in the pictures. The aftermarket stereo seems to be playing about a bit but again rare option electric sun roof is working well as do the electric mirrors and central locking. Strange thing is when optioned from new the first owner went for an electric roof but wind up rear windows? All this plus the interior cloth choice makes this Mercedes a bit of a one off car.
Mechanically everything seems fine wth the 1800cc petrol engine pulling surprisingly well and the auto gearbox changing nicely in full auto or semi modes. It feels like a car that has only done low mileage in its life.
With 190E Mercedes cars now going up quickly in value, it will not be long before their replacement the C class will follow suit. Grab a good one now while still at this price and enjoy retro/classic motoring for next to nothing.
