With only 91K on the clock, a full service history in its original owners wallet complete with owners hand books, old tax discs and every MOT since new, this unusual to find as an Automatic, VW Golf is a rare find indeed.
Coming from new with power steering, 4 way electric windows, central locking and colour coded bumpers the “CL” model was an expensive car in its day but the build quality of VW’s back then is evident to see today. The interior has held up excellently with little or no wear evident. Outside, while there is some lacquer peel on the upper panels, there is no rust and past a minor scuff on one wheel arch, miraculously few car park dents etc you would normally find on this type of car. Its red body work still shines up very nicely and is complimented by some nice, but subtle after market alloy wheels.
Mechanically all seemed good on its drive back to us with no problems showing on a 20 mile drive in heavy traffic, the heater and CD player work well so all in all a pleasant drive, its 1800cc engine making over taking safe and when possible, 70mph cruising easy. The automatic gear box works as designed and the brakes etc are all good. Its service history does show new front breaks at 88K and a new cam belt and water pump at 78K so no worries there.
ALL Golfs are desirable and MK3s like this one are now finding homes with lovers of the brand that have found earlier cars, now to expensive. This MK3 is one of the latest you will find and being an Auto with full history and low miles, will make someone an excellent first retro/classic car. Currently MOTd until November so ready to go.
